Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
